Investing in the Next Chapter of Arghandab Dairy Farm

Building a 500-Cow Dairy Herd by 2028

Completing our new dairy farm is only the beginning. Once construction is complete, we will relocate our existing herd of 50 dairy cows to the new facility and begin the next phase of our mission—expanding to a herd of 500 high-producing dairy cows by the beginning of 2028.

Operational Rationale

Why Herd Expansion Matters

The new farm will provide the land, barns, infrastructure, and equipment needed to support a much larger operation. However, buildings alone do not produce milk.

Our greatest investment after construction will be acquiring high-quality pregnant dairy cows that can begin producing milk shortly after arriving at the farm while also growing the next generation of our herd.

Modern farm building facilities

Strategic Objectives

  • Increase fresh milk production for local communities
  • Create dozens of additional full-time jobs
  • Strengthen Afghanistan's domestic dairy industry
  • Reduce reliance on imported dairy products
  • Improve breeding programs for future herd growth
  • Build a financially sustainable agricultural business capable of supporting future expansion
Strategic Pathway

Our Herd Expansion Plan

Our strategy focuses on acquiring more than 300 pregnant dairy cows. This approach allows the farm to increase milk production quickly while naturally expanding the herd through future calf births.

Our active pilot herd, fully acclimated to local conditions, serving as the operational and genetics baseline.

The required volume to scale operations from pilot to full commercial farm capacity.

Investing in pregnant dairy cows to instantly trigger lactation and natural breeding cycles.

Achieving full capacity by early 2028 to become Kandahar's leading dairy supplier.

Herd Expansion Budget

Funding Goal: $1.2 Million USD

This funding will allow Arghandab Dairy Farm to purchase approximately 300 pregnant dairy cows, representing the largest investment following the completion of our new dairy farm.
